I was aboard Rawhiti for the first race of the 2024 ABD Classic Yacht Regatta on Friday afternoon. A light westerly sent us running down the harbour, but alas there was a big hole and we fell right in. Hard to shake it off but then underway again on the chase. Upwing Rawhiti dug her rail in as the breeze increased and used the tide to good effect. Nearly but not quite as Ariki took the gun in the A Gaff Division and we crossed a few meters behind. A great start to the series with a few repairs to a spinnaker tear on the dock! Thanks for the opportunity to sail on Rawhiti.
